The Ellie Fund

Program Description

The mission of the Ellie Fund is to provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing. In 2005, the Ellie Fund launched its Healing Together Patient and Family Care Program, providing critical support services, free of charge, to patients in active treatment for breast cancer residing or receiving treatment in Massachusetts.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Support

Of those patients assisted by the Ellie Fund, 30% have received a metastatic diagnosis and will endure lifelong treatments in an effort to control it. To better serve this vulnerable patient population, the Ellie Fund, with a leadership gift from The Ilene Beal Charitable Foundation, launched the Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Program (MBC Program) on January 1, 2018.

Through the MBC Program, in partnership with The Ilene Beal Charitable Foundation was a founding donor to the Ellie Funds MBC Program, which provides critical support services as well as integrative therapies, free of charge, to patients with a metastatic diagnosis. For each patient, the Ellie Fund creates a personalized grant, consisting of support services for 6 months. Services include nutritional and grocery assistance, prepared meals, transportation to medical appointments, light housekeeping, childcare reimbursement as well as integrative therapies.

Red Carpet Gala

The Beal Foundation has also been a lead sponsor of the annual Red Carpet Gala, including a challenge grant for the evening’s fundraising efforts, and a sponsor of their annual golf tournament.

Ilene was posthumously honored with the Rose award at their gala in 2019 in recognition of her longstanding and generous support for the organization.
